Rs. 50,000crore, 116 districts, 6 states: PM Modi launches mega Gareeb Kalyaan Rojgaar Abhiyaan

Chief Ministers of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Orissa will participate in the virtual launch from Bihar’s Telihar village.

PM Modi to launch Gareeb Kalyan Rojgaar Abhiyaan from 20th June.

To empower and provide livelihood opportunities- to returnee migrant workers and rural citizens

Focusses campaigns of 125 days a across 116 districts in six states to work in mission mode

Public works worth Rs. 50,000 crore to be carried out under the scheme

Focusses implementation of 25 different types of works to provide employment and to create durable infrastructure

116 districts account for 67 lakh migrant workers (approximately 2/3 of returnee migrants)

Bihar has 32 districts and 12 aspirational districts 

Uttar Pradesh has 31 districts and 5 aspirational districts 

Madhya pradesh has 24 districts and 4 aspirational districts 

Rajasthan has 22 districts and 2 aspirational districts

Odisha has 4 districts and 1 aspirational districts

Jharkhand has 3 districts and 3 aspirational districts 

It focuses on 25 works such as- community sanitation complex, Gram Panchayat Bhawan, works under finance commission funds, National Highway works, water conservation and harvesting works, construction of wells, plantation and horticulture.
