Talking About Depression: Let’s Share, Listen And Spread Love

According to the Mayo Clinic, depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest and can interfere with your daily functioning.

Depression is a cruel disease that can affect anyone. It doesn’t perceive your money, power, or fame. Once the symptoms begin, it is very easy for them to slide down the spiral of depression where the symptoms feed off of each other. We have created such an environment around us where talking about depression is really hard for everyone. This is the harsh reality of our society. People usually make fun of someone rather than showing empathy to whosoever tries talking about something that is eating them up.

There are different non-clinical ways to feel better while dealing with depression:

Talking is one of the key points which can be really effective if done in a positive way.

Talking Helps And Heals

It was mid of my teenage, I was a fun extrovert and that happy phase went along with my teenage years.  I realised eventually we all show symptoms of being lonely and suppressing our feelings and emotions. Maybe you had such great listeners who made fun of you rather than understanding your feelings. Maybe your listeners were broadcasters, some of them misunderstood you and the rest took advantage of what they knew. We found solace in our loneliness and we lacked non-judgemental and good listeners.

If you have come this far I want you to surround yourself in a healthy environment. Announcing that you will listen to everyone’s problem really won’t help, we’ll need to be a good listener first.

Be a little polite in this world of hate.
Be an angel to someone in this world of devils.
Be a light in this world full of darkness.

To those who think this is the end,

If water couldn’t fulfil your thirst,
You must be drinking alcohol.
If life is a burden to you,
You are probably not enjoying it.
If reading this reminds you of something,
You shouldn’t hold back now.
If people give you anxiety,
You haven’t found salvation from your insecurities yet.
If you believe someone or something will bring new light in your life,
You should look at the past and see how far you already came in seek.
If sleep couldn’t refresh your mind,
You’re lacking mornings.
If a random word is hurting you and you are desperate to defend yourself,
You are validating yourself.
If jealousy is defining you more,
You’re not counting your own blessings.
If your own words are hurting you,
Run, just run from your pseudo friends.
If life is showing you a downfall,
Find a silver lining and it will take you to the new authentic heights.
If showoff gives you the best composure,
You really need to start feeling good about yourself.

Work upon yourself. Be a good listener. Spread love.
