India On Turmoil And Calculated Action

India has always been in turmoil, sometimes of its own grief and sometimes by inviting problems.

Since the Nehru era, China has been betraying India’s aspiration towards a “middle kingdom” and trust through its international policies.

Everything they do is pragmatic and nothing depends on the moral norms. Yet, a question comes to mind: does China really care about its own reputation? In no way do they fulfil the set of democratic motions.

Thus, their foreign policy depends on their “assertion mentality”. Therefore, another question is: why does China keep hurting India’s sovereignty?

In terms of realism (political thought), it’s to acquire power. India is not the only country in the etched box for China to assert their desire for power. Rather, the Philippines, Vietnam, Nepal, Bhutan, etc. are all in the box of Chinese assertive mindset.

So, for its profound affection towards power as well as maintaining it, they jostle with such assertive action.

Does China really want to acquire India’s Aksai Chin region or the other two fronts?

If China wishes, it’s pretty clear already that they’ve acquired it, either with bilateral dialogue or some kind of adjustment.

The question arises: how can China’s assertiveness be restrained? The answer is “power”.

In the 21st century power comes through our economies. China’s international relations, one or another, are based on economic aid as a dole in Nepal and Sri Lanka or investment in a European country and even in America.

Regarding India, it’s a huge economic market. The second-highest population in the world can be used as a leverage. Consequently, the status quo changes. This resulted in a geographical pullback (China withdrew its forces from Galwan).

We were a little late, but India’s pinpoint soft-action against China’s core ideology by scrapping Chinese companies from 4G upgradation tenders, banning Chinese apps, excluding Chinese investment in infrastructure projects worth 1.5 lakh crore, etc. have had an impact.

It was once again the best road ahead chosen by India.
