Failures Are A Teaching Moment

Failure might not come in the forms you have seen. Even they are a mystery. We often imagine our failures even before we begin, we think about how we would fail in a particular way. We envision a manner, a pattern, a form. We think it to be as drastic as going bankrupt after a startup or having an accident while learning how to ride a bicycle.

Our fear of failure often stops us from beginning a task. We are stuck in a spot, thinking of the ways in which we fail. But we don’t know that even failures come in a surprising way. What if we don’t fail the way we imagined, what if you fail small and don’t go bankrupt. Maybe it’s a small loss or just a bruise when you fall.

We often fuel our imagination by how badly we will fail. It’s true we’ll fail sometimes when we get started or even in the middle of something. But why not bring our thinking back to practicality and think we’ll fail but we’ll fail in a way we’ll be able to deal with later.

No matter what we do, it might not prepare us for failure, but what we can do instead is can focus on the next step. What after falling down, after getting bruised? Think about the next right thing. That is what we should prepare for.

To fail is also a journey, it’s a jolt that tells you there is a problem which needs to be resolved. It’s a comma in a sentence, a small pause before you reach the full stop. But after the full stop or post reaching your goals, your dreams continue and so do your failures.
