Some new hashtags for the days’ of the week

If you feel that the days’ have been behaving weirdly since the arrival of Covid 19, then you are definitely not alone. Feeling happy on Mondays’, sleepy on Wednedays’ and crying on Sundays’ seem to be the “new normal”. The vibes of the days’ have changed completely so it’s only natural to revisit some of the popular hashtags used for days’ of the week and add a “new normal” flavour to them.

  1. Get over #mondayblues and embrace #mondaybooze

From #mondaysucks to #mondaywoes, Monday has always been the bad news. However, with the “new normal”, poor Monday finally got a chance to redeem itself. I mean, why to wait for the weekend to enjoy a booze when we are at home all day in our pyjamas and slippers. So, let’s get over our blues while enjoying a booze and don’t forget to use #mondaybooze.

2. The journey from #tuesdaytreats to #tuesdayfreaks

Staying at home all day and doing the same chores again and again with no element of surprise to our days’, we all are surely freaking out a lot more than before. In the midst of all this, it is only fair to accept what we are truly feeling and save #tuesdaytreats for later.

3. Jump from #wednesdaywisdom to #wesdnesdayboredom

Staring blankly at the middle of the week with a middle finger in my mind, this “new normal” is everything but normal. With nowhere to go and nothing new to do, boredom has held us hostage and in no time #wednesdayboredom or #whinewednesday seem more relatable.

4. Are you sure that it’s still #throwbackthursday ? The last time I checked, it was #throwupthursday

With no throwback pictures left to be thrown at followers on social media, it is only fair to give rest to #throwbackthursday for a while. On top of that, with no occassion to move around our lazy asses’ in the coming days’ , we all have become a couch potato, so throwing up sounds natural if not better, isn’t it ?

5. Flying from #fridaynight to #fridayoutofsight

To all the party animals out there, my heart goes out to you. With almost every pub, restobars, disc points and cafes closed for months with no or little sign of them opening in the coming days’, it seems like Friday night took a flight and is now out of our sights.

6. How come #saturdayfunday became #saturdayjustanotherday ?

If 2020 were to go down in history, it will start like this, “Once upon a time, people used to go out on Saturdays’, the most fun day of the week”. Yes, it’s the bitter truth but we have lost the old, gold Saturday. We don’t go out anymore for fun but just to buy groceries and medicines. We stay at home wearing the same set of clocks on rotational basis and click selfies with the basic mode on and if all this sound fun to you, then we are underestimating the severity of Corona.

7. From #sundaybrunch to #sundaypunch

Sunday is too pure and holy for the “new normal” and my hands are shivering while typing this but let’s accept the truth and say it out loud that the DAY no longer feels special. Everyday feels like a Sunday now. Earlier, brunching on Sundays’ with our closed ones’ used to be a thing and now all we wait is for a stricter curfew to be imposed on Sundays’ so that we don’t go out. I swear, if a good soul on Earth could lend me a time travel machine, I’d love to go back from #Sundaypunch to #Sundaybrunch.
