July 11 was declared as ‘World Population Day’ by the United Nations in 1989. It’s a special day to raise awareness about population issues. Inspiration for this special day comes from the “Five Billion Day” on July 11, 1987 (the day when the world’s population reached five billion). This year, UNFPA is working to raise awareness about the sexual and reproductive health needs and vulnerabilities of women and girls during the pandemic.
Today, on World Population Day, let’s test your knowledge about the country’s population!
