Are we really independent?
Are we living with complete freedom, are we really liberated?
Is it enough being a constitutionally-independent country?
Are we free from caste discrimination and the communal tensions in our country?
Are we free from corruption?
Are we at least free from our basic problems like poverty and unemployment?
India is the largest democracy in the world. The Constitution of India gives its citizens six rights, known as the Fundamental Rights.
We have the:
- Right to freedom
- Right to education and culture
- Right against exploitation
- Right to equality
- Right to freedom of religion
- Right to constitutional remedies.
We have rights, are we exercising these rights in an appropriate way? are we truly free?
I just want to highlight a few issues on which, together as Indians, we have to come together, out of our comfort zones, and strive to make our country a much better and a peaceful place to live in.
