“Bricks Make A House, But Family Makes A Home”

Family, a self-explanatory subject, still needs a description.

For the past many days, I was wondering about a theme for my next write up and finally; I picked this. I am not going to highlight the types of families—joint or nuclear. The reason why I chose this topic is to showcase the inner and hidden aspects of a family.

Every family is a happy family because of some reason, right? Like if you live in a joint family, there might be your uncles, aunts, grandparents or cousins who have somehow someday sacrificed something for you. It may not be anything major, and maybe that is why you never saw it like that. Now, imagine you live in a nuclear family. There might be times when our family faces ups and downs. But do they ever let us know what are they going through? No! Never! Have you ever wondered why? Because what matters to them is just us and our happiness.

Now, if by any chance, we are meant to leave something or specifically ‘sacrifice’ something for any of our family members, I don’t think it should worry us at all. Ever wondered why and how despite many bad phases of ups and downs, our family stays together? It is because of understanding. When you are part of a family, what must matter to you is only and only happiness of all, and most importantly, togetherness. Always remember if there are ups and downs, there will surely be happy and good times too. No matter how many friends you have, the people who’ll come to your rescue first will be your family.

I have heard this from the elders of my family many times, “If you are living together, there are chances of some ups and downs to come, but always remember you are a family member first and yourself later.”

Summing up, I would just say that it is never about living in a joint or nuclear family; it is always about living in a family.
