Opinion: The Ram Mandir Doesn’t Fix The Underlying Problems?

Modi at the foundation stone laying ceremony

Hello everyone, Jai Shree Ram. I know we are all pleased about the Ram temple in Ayodhya. But I have one question. Do we need a temple? I know we are Hindus and we love our culture. We also love Hindutva. But that doesn’t mean we want to build temples and need Hindu, Muslim and religious agendas to make India great.

India is great. But in my opinion people in India want to make everything about religion, whether it is development, media, culture or anything else, it is related to religion. India is a democratic country. We have the power to choose our candidates. We should never settle for less.

What Do We Need?

We don’t need temples for development. We need employment, education and a strong economy. We need to be poverty-free, have better medical facilities and infrastructure and need growth in our country. Do we get all these from the temple?

I am happy for the Ram Mandir because it is a dream for most Indian’s and also a historical decision as people say. But this should not be accepted as development or India making progress. I want the government to do something for the needy, who are dying, who don’t have shelter over their head, who are jobless. I want the government to do something for medical development so that we can survive in this pandemic. I want the government to do something for farmers who are dying. They need us, and we need them.

Ram Mandir can be in your home. Rama doesn’t need a temple to stay in. He can stay in your heart. But people can’t. It’s the government’s responsibility to do something for the people of India so that we can make a Ram Mandir in every household.

No offence, this is my voice, my opinion.
