Opinion: How Jamia Won The Battle Of Truthfulness

Jamia Millia Islamia, despite all the penalties, topped central universities in rankings. We can never forget the violence which happened with the Jamia students and many of them lost their blood, got injured and faced dishonour without any crime. They have been rebuked by Delhi police and a number of students couldn’t appear for exams losing their valuable time. This triumph of Jamia is retort for those who want to tarnish the reputation of Jamia University and label it as ‘terrorist’.

Delhi police violence in Jamia we all are aware of this fact. The baton-charge didn’t stop in the streets, but the police personnel chased the students inside the Jamia campus and flogged them. In response to the attack, few students resorted to stone-pelting

Students complained that they lost their possessions in the chaos, were thrown under people’s feet, and had to try to avoid stepping over each other. Some people sustained a head injury in the subsequent commotion. So many eyes witnessed the incidence.“He lost a lot of blood. So many of us were injured, said Rahman. “At least forty to fifty students were detained following the clash between the police and students after the protesters were stopped at the varsity gate and stopped from holding a protest,“.

How is it that all these statements have been treated as criminals without committing any crime? A lot of comments were passed on the students by the police like ‘Pakistani’ and ‘terrorist’ and it’s ridiculous that many politicians openly said that these sort of universities produce terrorists.

Careers of the students take a good shape in this university. Not only Indian students, but even international students study here. It is a highly reputed institute well known for its hospitality and transparency. Despite being a Muslim university, there is only a 25% reservation for students and there’s no discrimination on the basis of caste and religion.

Universities are places where students get higher education and give a better shape to their career. A lot of them today have become officers who protect the country as real patriots; they have the right to protest peacefully. The govenment should understand that they render their services for the country instead of forcing any law which incites violence in the country.

Suggestions To Prevent These Situations

1 Education is the backbone of the progress of any country. First of all, we need to help and support all those institutions rather doing such mean acts towards them.

2 Rules and law should be implemented after a public poll so it will be easy to understand the opinion and welfare of the citizen.

3 India is a democratic country. We should keep this fact in mind. We must give rights, respect and equal opportunities to all rather than emphasising on any particular religion.

4 There are various issues which need attention for improvement. We must work towards that direction.

5 All the perpetrators who incite such violence must be behind the bars.
