Taking Consent And Permission Begins From School. Then Why do We Forget During Sex?

No More Rape

Today’s topic is consent.

Obviously, the root of the process of taking consent starts from school. Eating someone else’s tiffin box or borrowing a pencil from a friend required permission.

So, can anyone please answer why this permission or consent, whatever you want to call it, is taken during sex? Why don’t we practice the habit of taking permission when it involves another individual? Consent occurs when a person voluntarily accepts the proposal or desire of the second individual.

This consent is closely related to a crime called rape. Yes, rape.

Sex without consent is nothing but rape.

One can have the desire to have sex. Yes, it’s quite obvious because it’s an animal instinct and humans are animals too (there’s a doubt whether humans are the most developed animals because of the increasing number of rape cases). But we have to understand that what we desire may or may not happen. It does not mean that just because of our desires, the world will act accordingly.

One can’t expect that if one has the desire of having sex, then they will plunge onto another individual without their permission or consent.

Not only strangers rape. Known persons and even family members can rape.

According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) annual report of 2018, 33,356 rape cases were reported across India. Out of these, 31,320 were committed by someone known to the victim (i.e. 93.9% of the cases).

Nobody can own anyone. I pray for you all to understand this. A marriage just links two individuals. It doesn’t mean that the husband has bought the wife.

Yes, I’m forced to use the term ‘buy’. And I don’t even have the slightest of guilt for using this word. Everyone has the right to say NO and they also deserve the world to respect their decision.

In this modern world, we should be modern and develop the habit of taking consent. First, change yourself if you have any faults, and then, of course, change others too. Hope this blog could leave a small impression in your heart.
