Poem : If Your Period Could Talk

Hand holding a pad on a backdrop of london

Don’t hate me, don’t hide me

I am you, You are me

Accept me, Celebrate me

Treat me with Dignity

I am pure, don’t call me dirty

I care about you, please care about me

I am not here forever, lets cherish each moment together

Don’t be ashamed when I am with you

It hurts!

Please talk about me, I am a part of you

Our relation is like a roller-coaster ride

I am sorry for those bloody days and painful nights

Often you wish not to see me

But when I don’t come, you miss me

I know it’s tough to handle me, but please

Stained clothes, an empty purse, tired body,

Yes, I agree

But I am here only to keep you healthy

Saw you growing into an amazing lady

I am glad to be a part of your beautiful journey

From a girl to a woman to a mother

You transform for the better, and

All these years I have been your silent admirer

When you planned to create a new life, I helped you through

I took care of the unborn and kept it safe in your womb

You are truly a superhuman and I am proud of you

We complete each other, but still, you shy away from me

I have been with you for years, ALAS! you still don’t accept me

Is my name that tough to take?

It’s ‘Period‘  please don’t hesitate

The right time will come when I will leave you

I ensure you stay healthy and be proud of me too

I wish you talk about me and tell others to accept me

Take my name and Celebrate me

I cared about you, please care about me

Don’t hate me, don’t hide me

I complete you and you complete me.
