An Open Letter To The DM To See The Plight Of Teachers In Ghaziabad Schools

Respected Sir,

I am writing this mail in the humble capacity of the Chairperson of a trust called Sabhyataa Foundation which works in the field of Mental Health. It has recently experienced a rush of counselings from teachers of renowned schools in the district.
The maximum counsellings I got in the past 3 months have been of teachers, out of which one even had suicidal tendencies and we had to counsel and try to heal her. The schools have cut down on salaries, their working hours have been increased and many have lost their jobs. Even in these tough times, schools are organizing unrealistic virtual competitions while teaching online already has a tough regime and demands more involvement of the teacher.

In many schools, the management is misbehaving with the teachers and threatening them on the basis of being thrown out of jobs. Many teachers are single earning members of the family while others contribute equally to the family income and so no one can afford to lose jobs. I am neither a teacher nor a parent but as someone dealing with mental health, I request the authorities to kindly take strict action against the big schools in Ghaziabad which are moulding the grave situation to their own benefit.
The role of a teacher in society is above everyone and I request strict orders to be passed to schools to wipe out anything that is unrelated to studies and creates trouble for the parents and the children. The need of the hour is to focus primarily on academics with relatively less focus on extracurricular activities as many parents and teachers might have limited resources and may not be able to afford expensive equipment needed for recordings during extracurricular activities.
I most humbly request the senior authorities to intervene and demand a more balanced and decent behaviour towards the teachers in the schools and give strict instructions for the welfare of teachers.
Best Regards
