It was 14th June 2020, when the tragic news broke in the afternoon, that actor Sushant Singh Rajput had committed suicide in his apartment in Mumbai. This news was a shocker to his fans in India and worldwide. The reason for his death, given by the Mumbai police and media wase depression and bipolar disorder. People were confused in the beginning but as time passed, several theories apart from suicide due to depression, were floated around and these included ‘murder by conspiracy’ and ‘honey trapping’.
Several responsible persons are also claiming that the Bollywood mafia and underworld are behind this. But the most shocking of all has been how the Mumbai Police went from declaring it a suicide to claiming it was a well-planned murder. But despite severe public outrage in India and worldwide, the Maharashtra government and the Mumbai police worked in tandem to hide the reason behind his death and floated the suicide theory continuously which the public found hard to believe.
The Timeling Of Suscipious Incidents
First they created hindrances for Bihar police personnel who were investigating , by making a big deal about the issue of jurisdiction and now they are also opposing the Central agency i.e. CBI from fairly investigating, even after being notified by the Central government on this. The public of India as well as of the world is laughing today at the mockery of the law and justice system in India.
The Bollywood fraternity is also silent as was expected from them and this is the very reason the people are hating on them , abusing them and leading a movement to boycott them. There have been several blunders committed by the Mumbai police such as not preserving the scene of the crime and not lodging an FIR even after two months and when an FIR was finally filed with the Bihar police in Patna, the Mumbai police did their very best to oppose the Bihar police and an SP level officer was even forcefully quarantined by BMC officials. This is a clear mockery of the justice system.
It’s high time the Central government and the Supreme court intervened in this case and took this case to its logical end, to restore the faith of the general public in the law and justice system of India. After all, it is the right of the people to know the real cause of SSR’s untimely demise. He was a real inspiration for the middle and aspirational classes and people today knowwhat a gem of a person SSR was. He was a visionary, a dreamer, a philanthropist, and a scientifically curious person that India has lost and people are taking this personally. The public mood today is one of revolution and they will not accept any cover-up stories of suicide as is being floated by the Mumbai police and the Maharashtra government.
