Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, participated in Bhoomi Pujan in Ayodhya on August 5, 2020. The Ayodhya verdict given by the 5-judges bench of Supreme Court on the disputed 2.77 acres of land in favour of Ram Lalla Virajman in November 2019 is a very dear and emotional subject for Hindus in India and around the globe.
The construction of the Grand Ram Mandir which once seemed to be a distant dream has now almost become a reality. It’s a saga of a 70-year struggle which began from December 1949 when idols were placed in mosques by Hindu sevaks and the demolition of Babri Masjid in December 1992 by Kar sevaks.
The Supreme Court also directed the Central or UP State government to give 5 acres of land to Sunni Waqf Board for the building of the mosque and allied activities. This decision was very important to maintain social stability and brotherhood between Hindu and Muslalmaan because India is a secular democracy that respects every religion. It sends a very good message around the globe about Unity in Diversity and Vibrancy of Democracy of India and sets well India’s image worldwide.
It is very important to respect religious sentiments of all communities and at the same time maintain the core values of the constitution. This augurs well for India’s future when it wants to reclaim its glorious past of ancient times.
