POEM : The India I Wish To See

Where people are never so weak, that someone’s freedom of expression breaks their peace,

Where we defend each others’ right to speak until our lives cease,

Where the joy of fraternity fills the streets.

Such an India I wish to see.

Where women break the shackles of patriarchy everyday,

Where there is hope for all, even if its a ray,

A country that leads in breaking unnecessary hierarchies,

Such an India i wish to see!

Where religions and regions are not our basis for judging people,

And English, not a status symbol,

And where humanity is present at all times,

Such an India I wish to see.

Where the environment goes hand in hand with development,

Where we judge development not in per capita terms but by the parameters of education and health,

Where we can banish from the hearts of poor all resentment,

Such an India I wish to see.

Where the Bhaav, Raag and Taal that make BHARAT are in consonance, for harmony is its essence,

Where there is no exclusion nuisance,

Such an India I wish to see.

If you think it is too idealistic,

Then I encourage you to be the best version of yourself you can be,

For only that is what it needs,

For the India, I wish to see.
