The Queerness Of The Government Awarding ‘Innovative Startups’.

There have been a bunch of these that I’ve seen now. Can I just say that innovation is something that is ultimately seen, experienced, and adopted by the masses for their own love, functionality, or for the sense of ease that the product gives them. This is something the market and millions of users decide collectively.

A judge for a startup competition isn’t achieving much by saying some startups are ‘innovative’. Furthermore, throwing taxpayer money on what someone decides is an ‘innovative startup’ is outrageous. Why not invest your own personal funds on these startups if you think they’re so promising?

Innovation is a result of free competition in the market

What’s funny is that the government seems to have no end in sight when it comes to its little reward and award competitions. The newest ‘Homegrown Microprocessor Challenge’ is the latest in these episodes of what’s frankly now become a series of comical events. Do you really know how much learning goes into making a microprocessor? It’s an extremely complicated process and can only be mastered with time.

A lot of research and development goes into doing this, and without having a market to sell them to, or market competition to compete with, there just wouldn’t be the right combination of factors needed to build an “innovative” microprocessor.

As I stated, market forces acting in concert with one another create the right level of competition and an affluent enough market in which these products can then be sold in.
