The world is reeling with a multitude of crises. Situations arising from the pandemic have propelled us to think, understand and appreciate more. Our thoughts and conscience are creating a new reality each day. At times, it seems that everything might end, but risers like Yash Tiwari, an 18-year-old writer from Kanpur, India, are reversing this frightful stance of a pandemic into a more promising one.

All hell broke loose, but a fiction book such as Pandemic 2020, written by Yash Tiwari, sighed relief. The book gives an anecdote of four stories, starting from the story of a budding journalist in India, a poor boy in China, a traveller struck in Italy, and a powerless doctor in the US.

“The story sails through different dynamics of the COVID world and how it grew stronger day by day. Though the outcomes are unknown, I promise, you will find an inspiring and motivational ending at the end of my novel,” says the writer. The ebook was launched by Oxford Bookstore in the first week of June. It is fascinating to know that the four plots are different from one another, but the lessons are ground-breaking and rewarding.

A Tell-Tale of the Book

Yash wrote his pioneering book A Celebration in Tribulation at the age of 16. It talks about Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease, a degenerative brain disorder. His second book, featuring the coronavirus, makes us eager to know about his writings on medical thrillers. “It is not about diseases, but human emotions and feelings I like to touch upon. I also believe that a story can’t be expressed from a tunnel vision, so I take you through the story via multiple scenarios and possibilities,” shares the author who is also a four-time TEDx speaker.

Pandemic 2020 gives an outstanding storyline with four perspectives. A lightening idea struck Yash when he was at home, incessantly watching television and the news. Those were the days when the fire of the virus had started engulfing India. He was moved by the environment and that was the time when he chose faith over fear. He decided to write his thoughts in the form of a book. He had put in a lot of research and studied the factual part of the story.

He says:

“The book deals with people more than the pandemic. It also talks about how we feel and how our emotions run wild during tough times. The pandemic is not only a health crisis that the world is facing, but a mental crisis as well. No matter how difficult and impossible it looks, the global crisis will end and no matter what, we are united and stand together, though in a socially-distanced way.”

About the Writer

Though Yash has done a deed that people take years to implement, it is shocking and inspiring to know that he is also a youth mentor, public speaker and a renowned motivator. He continues to deliver workshops in colleges, apart from being a writer. He says that when he starts writing, he is a slave to the process. “It’s like binge-watching, I binge write,” he laughs as he shares.

He has been writing since he was seven and always felt a natural passion for writing. “I also feel passionate about speaking up, through text or speech. I try to harness all my abilities towards the opportunities I come across to do my bit,” says Yash, who is currently pursuing Mass Communication from Jagran Institute of Management and Mass Communication. He feels strongly drawn towards journalism and in future, would like to recite stories for a living. “My motivation for writing has always been to ignite meaningful conversations,” he says.

As an over-thinker, he gets a lot of plots in his mind to channelise new narratives into his writings. As we all are home in isolation, Pandemic 2020 becomes a great book to invest our mind and energy in.
