This Institution Is Mentoring Children In Delhi Slums In An Innovative Way

When it comes to the world we are living in, there aren’t many stones unturned to show that it starves for humane activities. Due to fulfilling the materialistic desires, mankind has somewhere forgotten the way towards humility and compassion. But there are still some attempts in the way, wishing to stand for upliftment; in all ways possible.

The Indian Centre for Development and Rights (iCFDR) is one such institution in the making. Founder, Advocate Ravindra Vikram showcased his wishes into bringing the idea of an NGO; which once used to provide education to the underprivileged, and now with multiple causes to stand for. With its inventiveness to stand for the meaningful, iCFDR has many developments to offer. Providing aid through areas like iCFDR fellowship, VIN Awards, Social Work Leadership Program and its most trusted venture, Easy Classes, now has become a successful vision for the making.

“Where children living in slums have hope, positivity and opportunity to work hard for a good life, having the right to assess education and the Indian Centre for Development and Rights is on the road to make this dream a vision,” says Adv. Ravindra Vikram, Founder.

Easy classes is a project aimed at mentoring the children living in the slums of Delhi. With children living in unfortunate conditions, the situation pushes them towards the wrong facets instead of getting what their right is- Education. And with this in mind, iCFDR acknowledges that children should have their right provided in this country, with their added front as these classes.

Easy classes are a mixture of recreational as well as learning activities for the young kids. There are multiple sessions which include storytelling, helping them with their homework along with activity-based learning. With objectives including academic learning, life skills and counselling, the venture mentors the kids into learning and getting to know everything they should.

iCFDR recognizes the need for basic facilities, along with the needs required, and wishes to reach every slum through this venture of Easy Classes. In order to get this progressed, a fellowship program has also been designed so that the motive can spread out and the team gets more responsible individuals to take upon this project and treat it as one, in spite of a task to be done.

The iCFDR Fellowship launched an online application on August 15 2020, aiming to garner and attract the attention of individuals who wish to amplify their support and give back to society. A program of 12 months, expanding the vision for Easy classes and making the concept of “Education for all” more feasible, the fellowship has been designed to dedicate it for that cause. Despite multiple attempts in making it a grander release, the pandemic hasn’t helped in doing so.

Thus, the applications have started to comply by this year’s Independence Day. With this fellowship having its first batch in commencement, iCFDR wishes to elongate its much grander vision to be the confidante for society, and hopefully will continue to do so in a much larger scale, if not less.
