Covid-19: A Battle Not Yet Finished

Highest Covid-19 Cases In India

We are in a war with a deadly virus, and the virus is still out there with its full lethality. Let us not hurry to get into a post-COVID world which seems to be a distant reality as of now. Unfortunately, ‘with Unlock-4’, things are getting worse as in the name of ‘ learn to live with the virus’ people have taken every relaxation for granted as if we have defeated the virus.

This lackadaisical attitude won’t help us in this war in any way.

Yes, it is true that we don’t have to panic as the death rate is very low. For most of the infected people, it can come and go as a viral fever which requires a few days of proper rest to cure. And there are a significant number of people who have shown no symptoms at all. But, this does not make the virus any less dangerous.

How much ever small is the death rate, we cannot afford to lose our dear ones who fall into the vulnerable group just because we took the virus lightly. Yes, life has to move on. But, with enough and enough precautions, by taking this virus with full seriousness. We don’t have to create chaos and be afraid of it; rather, we should be alert to the fullest in our every action. We should keep it in my mind that this virus may infect us for some time.

Every other person you meet in your daily life can be a potential agent to pass on the virus to you, and you can be the one who expands the chain further. This is not to say to isolate yourself from others, but to keep a physical distance by keeping everyone close socially. Together, we will win this war.
