Poem: Adam And Eve

Adam and Eve lived together in harmony,

Maybe gossip can trace why the ghost of,

The stereotype wander eternally.

Did he put thorns or flowers in her braid?

Did the wind carry promises of love?

Or thoughts to suffocate.

Love gave a society of lies,

Where Adam was a man,

And Eve, just different in all kinds.

Confined to the potential of a wife,

her cries were the only thing,

which no one ever minds.

He played in the mud and grease,

While Eve straightens my skirt for me,

Red dress- red lips mean fertility,

But red stains are an ignominy.

Her opinions were given away in dowry,

It cost her a job to grow his family.

The polity dresses up the truth,

While she dresses up for you,

Then Eve is questioned in a room,

Afraid to sleep or live it through,

Tears stained mirrors in rue,

Because she provoked the man in you.

Nestled in Adam’s lap I sit,

He kisses my forehead and tells me,

how proud of his daughter he is.

Practice bought my dreams from night,

But Adam locks the door because,

am too smart to Mr. x’s dislike.

Generations of Adams and Eves have lived,

Now Adam calls himself a feminist,

To woo Eve, it is a cheap trick.

Walking through hell for a woman,

You love like Obama and Michelle

But maidens still search for a haven.
