Which Sectors Can Benefit From The Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan?

“A nation’s strength ultimately consists in what it can do on its own and not in what it can borrow from others.”

The word ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ means a self reliant India. Although this word gained popularity after the honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced the “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan” on May 12, 2020, the threads of this concept were spun on the charkha way back by Mahatma Gandhi to make India self reliant, but unfortunately, all we have done is spun his ideas into a garland and put them over his statue. But now, when this word has regained a new life, India is all set to be self reliant and set an epitome of ‘vocal for local’.

Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan focuses on the importance of promoting local products in every arena. The mission is also expected to complement the ‘Make in India’ initiative that intends to encourage manufacturing in India ranging from defence weapons to medical tools.

This self reliant policy neither aims to be protectionist in nature nor does it intend cutting off India from the rest of the world.

A self reliant India aims at being a bigger and a more important part of the global economy.

The most important sectors where this concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat can do wonders are as follows:

Under the self-reliant concept during the Covid-19 pandemic, India has started manufacturing its own PPE kit and Covid-19 testing kits.
  1. Health Sector: The major tools and kits in the health sector were imported from other countries and the importing costs turned too heavy for common people of our country. Now, under the self-reliant concept during the Covid-19 pandemic, India has started manufacturing its own PPE kit, Covid-19 testing kits, and the most important discovery of the coronavirus vaccine is on its way with a successful first round of trial.
  2. Defence Sector: Being fully equipped with arms and ammunition can pose a challenge to enemies, but preparing it in our own country will give them shivers and a mental defeat even before the actual war begins.
  3. Education Sector: The proper implementation of NEP 2020 will serve to be a boon in becoming self reliant from the very early age of our lives. The students will not only excel in academics, but they will be equipped with various skills which they will learn as part of the curriculum itself. The students, i.e. the future of the nation, will be a resource to the nation and strengthen it.
  4. Telecommunication Sector: The 5G network dream of India will now be made true by Jio and India will soon come into the world market of technology and be the key player in it.

Working upon the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat won’t be as easy as it seems, but we Indians can unite together and make it easier and practically possible. A few months ago, we could have never thought that those Chinese apps, which were popping on our cell phone screens, would be out of our Indian market. But we did this digital strike so successfully, that we not only eradicated these Chinese apps, but also developed their substitutes within less than a month of their ban.

“Without self reliance one cannot exercise the innate desires to serve.”

With this tool and power of Atmanirbhar Bharat, we will one day become one of the biggest exporters and set an epitome for other developing countries.

How can we give something if we ourselves don’t have anything — food for the hungry cannot come from empty shelves, money to assist the needy cannot come from empty wallets, support and understanding cannot come from the emotionally starved, teaching cannot come from the unlearned. And above all, spiritual guidance cannot come from the spiritually weak.

“Self reliance is the only road to true freedom and being one’s own person is its ultimate reward.”

So, let’s join hands and work for the country so that we can build ourselves strong and then serve as a pillar to the world.
