How To Get Rid Of ‘Too Much NEET Anxiety’ In The Lockdown

While the NTA has postponed the NEET exam to September 13 due to the Covid-19 lockdown, NEET aspirants are said to have come under certain stress regarding the NEET 2020 exam dates, and other certain things. Lakhs of NEET aspirants are going to be giving the exam and they are stressed and worried right now. Due to this Coronavirus outbreak, there are no school or coaching centres that are open as per the guidelines put forth by the Indian Government. The only positive thing that has come to the rescue of students is the concept of ‘online classes’.

Teachers from schools are taking online classes for NEET preparation to make sure that students complete their courses and prepare well for exams. But even after that, many students feel anxious and stressed while preparing for the most important exam of their life, which is to a certain extent justified.

But what students must not forget is that too much anxiety will not be a good thing for their school and competitive exams. While school exams are not in sight, students are giving their 100% for the preparation of competitive exams such as JEE and NEET. Stress about the exam is okay but students need to understand that they can utilize this lockdown to their best if they plan to grab the most out of it.

Here are 4 tips on how students can prevent exam anxiety while preparing for NEET during the lockdown:

  1. Be Prepared

Just be 100% sure that you are prepared for your exam well. If you have any doubts about your preparation then make sure to do the tough parts earlier instead of doing it later. There shouldn’t be regrets of procrastination later. After completing the course, also take out sufficient time to revise your course to be more confident about your preparation.

  1. Follow A Time Table

At this time, being on a time table is very much important. Prepare a daily routine mentioning proper timings for each activity.

Focus on being healthy. Get enough sleep and take healthy diet. This will help you to concentrate more proficiently and will sharpen your memory before the exam.

  1. Stay Away From Distractions

The biggest distraction of all is a cell phone and social media. It’s better to limit your time or get rid of these social media sites during these exam times. Deleting all time-wasting apps will be a big step to keep your concentration only on your studies right now.

Also, find yourself a place in your house where you can study without any disturbance and distractions.

  1. Do Not Have Any Negative Thoughts

Make sure not to bring any negative thoughts before or after giving the exam. Thoughts like “I’m not prepared” or “I’m not good enough” are self-doubting thoughts that come in the mind and hamper our confidence. Keep positive thoughts in your mind like “I can do this” or “I’m prepared well”. These kinds of thoughts can take you far in helping to manage stress and anxiety.
