Mental Health: The New Covid-19?

We have come to the year-end, somehow surviving and leading our life. But the big question we still are avoiding is how we are holding up! Mental health has become inconsequential. Somehow, we have bottled up and carried on our daily monotonous routine.

A good chunk of the population is either unemployed and the ones tearing themselves up to get half salary have enhanced themselves into puppets of employers. The work from home hours have crossed the mental pressure limit. Still, we are happy or you can say that we don’t really have an option with these enormous working hours. The threatening of lay off and a blank future with no appraisal are the major issues which we are hiding and afraid to open up about.

The frustration and the agitation have doomed the active part of our brain. The non-inclination of work or study, sleepiness apart from physical health is now faced by the majority. The tumbling of the economy and the nonsense news channels are covering is a huge cry out symbol. This TV news is also facing another kind of mental issues. They are hiding these issues by comic news coverage. Nowadays, people find real news on Instagram rather than on a news channel.

Last but not least, we are now losing interaction within our social circles. Earlier we used to unburden our sadness and frustration to our confidantes. But now, all are helpless. No late-night “panchayati” talks happen as there is no matter to discuss other than Covid-19, deaths and work pressure. We cannot unbottle the frustration deep down. We have to fight our own mental battles. It’s very difficult to find a solution to this because the one who is writing this article is still searching for an answer.
