Sexism in Bollywood is analogous to Shahrukh spreading his arms in his films. Yes, pretty much all the time! It is rampant, excessive and totally unwarranted. Although we’re gradually moving towards a space where women are asserting their space in terms of pay, roles and importance, we’re a long way away from equality.
It also brings a pertinent question to the table: yes, money is important and that explains the sexualisation, reduction and glorification of women as sex objects, but at what cost? It’s not justified!
