How Long Are We Going To Let Pawns In The Media Walk All Over Us?

arnab

The Indian media is a hot mess right now. As our country buckles under the pandemic and it’s long-lasting effects, all our media cares about is a woman who allegedly drove a man to suicide and got arrested for drug abuse and how the Maharashtra government demolished an illegal building. I’m not even going to go into what’s right and wrong; the media houses are having more than enough debates about it.

What the media needs to cover is how our economy is on a roller coaster that’s only going down, the state of unemployment and putting students in danger to give exams that might lead them to a country without any jobs or future.

The environmental policies of the EIA, that’s a considerable threat. The trans bill that is going to do more harm than good. The state of people in Jammu and Kashmir who’ve been in the dark for more than a year. The anti-CAA-NRC protests our country saw and the students in Delhi who were traumatised by the events, and the fact that our govt and people responsible refuse to answer questions.

The PM Cares Fund is not being disclosed and at the same time the members of the ruling party are conducting rallies saying Covid-19 is over. All of this doesn’t even scratch the surface of the issues we as citizens are facing. The fact that we don’t see these discussions on prime time news is testament to the fact that Indian media runs nothing but fake news and propaganda to gain votes.

The question here is how much longer are we as citizens of this country going to sit and let people walk over us, people we elect to serve us, not to stand there and use our taxpayer money to mock us. And how much longer are we going to let the pawns of these elected representatives scream utter nonsense to us from our TVs into our living rooms and corrupt the minds of our people so that these people can come to power again.
