After a saga of seven films and a remake, the horror franchise does not stop. A television series will also arrive in 2021, written and directed again by Don Mancini and with veterans Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly returning to the cast. Here is the first teaser trailer with a taste that takes us back to the world of the lethal doll.
What do we know about the Chucky series
Fifth sequel to The Killer Doll , in this new film the excess of the fourth and fifth films is abandoned, for a return to the dark atmospheres of the first trilogy. The protagonist of the story is Nica, a young woman in a wheelchair from birth who is trying to cope with the death of her mother Sarah. Complicating her life is the family of her older sister Barb, a manipulative woman with an obsession with control, who torments Ian, her beautiful husband. The cast also features a meddlesome priest who will come face to face with Chucky. When his home is hit by a series of strange deaths, Nica begins to suspect the strange doll that was delivered to him a few days earlier.
Filming will begin in September 2012, in Winnipeg.

Nica (Fiona Dourif) is serving the pain of her mother’s macabre suicide; Strong Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives, elder sister, with family in tow, to settle matters relating to her mother’s death. Between the two sisters there is an immediate war over the plans that Nica has in mind for the future. Barb’s youngest daughter comforts her aunt by giving her Chucky (Brad Dourif), a grinning red-haired doll with the gift of speech, mysteriously found in the letterbox.
Conclusions
We confess that in the film after the opening of the box in which Curse Of Chucky enters the scene, seeing his uncut round face and that typical glassy look of his has given us more than a few good memories, but on the other hand also some concern, both for what concerned the chosen format (direct-to-video), both for how Mancini would have approached this new episode, but after seeing Chucky again armed with a knife, having established an intelligent and balanced use of CG and special effects and finally ascertained with hand the director’s intention to give us a film in pure 80’s style, all doubts have magically vanished and we could not help but welcome back to Chucky and witness his return in dazzling form.
