It’s Time We Started ‘Investing’ In Ourselves. Here’s How!

We often don’t realise, but once we start earning, we create unnecessary liabilities intentionally or unintentionally, for ourselves.

Was it only about getting a job? We think now that we can buy everything we see or have ever wanted, that we can buy a house, car, furniture, clothes and a lot of fancy things just to show off. Most of the time we end up paying EMIs when we knew we could have just managed with what we had.

Think about it. What about creating assets more than liabilities or your ‘luxuries’?

Make investments, not only in share markets but in yourself. Why not use your creativity, passion, skills, and curiosity to learn something that you had to give up while you were busy in college or while searching for a job, or getting married, or having kids and taking care of them?

Why not invest your time in learning the abilities to start your own business or teach or just learn skills like gardening, cooking, designing, writing, selling your voice, and more? Actually, I can go on and on. Basically, investing some time on yourself is the most important and biggest asset that you can create for yourself.

This is a kind of investment that will never go in vain and you will get a return for sure at some point in your life. That will be the time you will thank no one but yourself for understanding the importance of ‘self-investment’. “font-And, it’s never too late.

Now, coming to our liabilities (how can you forget — you have created them after all), the return that we generate from self-investment is actually our ‘retained earnings’ that we can use to fulfil our luxurious needs in life.

Again, think about it. We can sit and crib about job insecurity or financial burden all day long, or actually work towards a solution, be self-aware, and start something that generates a passive income. And yes, there are loads of options available out there and you can’t say you don’t have the skills to start.

But if you still have this excuse, let me ask you, do you know how to speak any language? If your answer is yes then you must also know that it is enough to start sometime than to never start.

That was not an exaggeration because if you can speak something original or valuable, or give advice, or influence people, you are eligible to teach on online platforms, be a motivational speaker or a storyteller through podcasts, write, and share, or rather sell, your learning through e-books or start a YouTube channel, and yes, everything for free.

Why not invest your time in learning the abilities to start your own business?

Well, this is not it, but I hope I have made a few things clear to you. I am sure you would want to do some research on how to generate passive income, and spend a little less time counting likes on your Instagram or Facebook selfies!
