“Why Is The Modi Govt And Its Media Silent On The GDP And Unemployment?”

कविता पकोड़ा भी नहीं बिक रहा

Development is as important for a country, as important as breathing is for us.

Several criteria have been set to measure development, based on which you can find out who is in how much hot water. One of the main criteria to measure development is Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which has been falling recently. Oh, is that so! How shameless is this GDP! It falls when we see it, without any public shame. But why shame, when people are not shown that GDP is falling then GDP will not feel ashamed.

Along with the GDP, the unemployment has also become ‘shameless’, it is also falling. Sometimes, it seems that there is a ‘competition’ between the two, as to who will fall more.

September 17 was the birthday of our Wazir-e-Azam Saheb and, National Unemployment Day was celebrated on the same day, to attract further attention to the condition of the unemployed youth.

About 12 crore Indians lost their jobs in the country, between March and May, no official statement. was given by the government. The fourth pillar of the country’s democracy also hid this, just the way a rich man hides his tax returns.

The Ministry of Labor and Employment does not have data on how many workers have been unemployed due to, and during the pandemic. The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises does not have the figures of how many small-scale industries have been shut down due to the Coronavirus. It can be said that the government is just as ignorant as the citizens of the country are.

PM Narendra Modi.

When the country’s GDP declined by more than 24%, no official statement was issued by the government, nor were any press conferences called. At the time when the GDP fell, Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty, and Kangana Ranaut made the news for the country’s media. However, it is another matter that by chanting ‘Kangna’ and ‘Rhea’, neither can the crop of the farmer be sold at the right price, nor can the children of migrant labourers be fed, nor can the unemployed be employmed.

On September 17, when the screams of the unemployed were heard all over the country, the media was celebrating the birthday of their boss (the boss who made the media a puppet). The country will have to think about how many more days the government can run the country without talking about issues on ground. Issues such as the ‘Hindu-Muslim’ debate, and who is a nationalist or an anti-nationalist can prove to be effective only to win elections, but not to run the country.

These days our country’s talks are limited to Bollywood, because it seems like the country’s media has no access to information and news other than Bollywood! Conscious citizens of the country will have to understand the process of this propaganda carefully, how the conspiracy is going to slowly make the masses disappear from TV and newspapers.

In order to assess the true state of the country, attention has to be drawn on issues like the GDP, GNP, and the unemployment rate. I feel that this is the most useless the media has been, with invisible pressure created by the government.

I strongly feel that the Modi government will always be remembered for its autocracy, how they attacked various movements happening in the country, and how the media was strangled. It is only natural to expect so much from the public, that it will remember this terrible phase and will not forget the autocracy of the government.
