Is There A Light At The End Of This Pandemic Tunnel?

Highest Covid-19 Cases In India

This is the first time we have all got a sense of how life would become if it actually came to a standstill. This lockdown has brought many sad tidings and a loss of communication, due to reasons unforeseen. Many people lost their lives, loved ones, and livelihoods, from the migrants, and impoverished to the underprivileged. Yet, no one took notice of their pain, except for a few good samaritans. The death tolls, which were heartbreaking, shook everyone to the core. This catastrophe has ruined many lives beyond repairs.

We talk about ‘unlocks’ which were apparently the need of the hour. This stance of the government was a privilege for many because they gradually started picking up the pieces. Everything was shattered, and people wished for the end of such predicament. What irks me the most till date is the sorrow, trauma, losses, etc., which were meted out to the people. This damage is irreparable for many. I hope this pandemic has a silver lining.

The things brushed under the carpet, such as the skyrocketing cases of domestic abuses, child abuse, rapes, suicides, unemployment have also perturbed the sanity of a person. Many are feeling like helpless witnesses to this gloomy picture of society.

In a nutshell, this new-normal is here to stay. We should give up apathy and come in unison to support the helpless and turn this battle into an opportunity to be of value to others. It’s never too late to live your dreams because life is not meant to hold back. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
