Criminal medical negligence. A 2 year old boy was admitted on 5/2/20 at Shalimar Bagh Max hospital. As per the case sheet the complaint was diarrhea with moderate dehydration. This boy was prescribed Movicol, an osmotic laxative. This is a drug that is essentially contraindicated in a case with dehydration. To add insult to injury this drug was administered intravenously resulting in severe dehydration, hypotension, hypovolumic shock, tissue injury and lactic acidosis as per the blood results given with the case sheet. The child died on 9/2/20. The child was referred to Max Saket hospital on 7/2/20. He was suffering from ischemic carditis and hepatitis at the time of referral for liver transplant. This was done to hoodwink the parents, who are having only graduate degrees in English. 9349312325 Whattsapp.
