If Life Doesn’t Give You Maggi, Then Make Yippee

Being a foodie, as always, I was craving for Maggi one evening so desperately that I decided to have it right then and there.

I have always been passionate about cooking, so I have my own unique ways of cooking Maggi. It might sound weird, but yes, I am that person who puts in a lot of effort into making a bowl of Maggi. And that’s because “Taste ke sath no compromise!”

Within no time, I chopped all the vegetables and took out all the extra spices that I usually prefer to use while preparing Maggi. The overenthusiastic me ran down the stairs singing “Thande thande paani se nahana chahiye.. Pet bhar ke khana khanaa chaiye (We should bathe in cold water and eat till our stomachs are full).” That’s not even a song though, it’s simply something I invented!.

Unfortunately, when I went to buy myself a packet of Maggi from a shop, the shopkeeper told me that the Maggi was not available at his shop presently. And within no time, my smiling face frowned! Listening to him say “Maggi ni hai, Yippee hai, dede (We don’t have Maggi, but we have Yippee)?” I was disheartened. I didn’t know what to say. I took a few seconds to decide, keeping in mind my hunger and the vegetables I  had chopped already. I ended up saying “dedijiye ab jo bhi hai (Please give whatever you have).”

Carrying the Yippee packets in my hands, I wondered what I should do next. I was never fond of Yippee. In fact, I never imagined myself eating Yippee and not Maggi. When I reached home, I had no idea what to do with those chopped vegetables.

Somehow, I made up my mind and decided to use those vegetables and spices in the same way as I would have for the Maggi, and put the same effort while making Yippee. Although I had no idea how it would turn out, I decided to give my best.

To my utter surprise, it turned out amazingly well. So well that I never expected it to be. It tasted so good that a person won’t even be able to tell if it was Maggi or Yippee. Now my craving was fulfilled, my mind was relaxed and heart was overwhelmed.

That day, I realised that often, what we want Maggi but life unexpectedly offers us Yippee. But we should not let this dishearten us. Instead, we should learn to accept things and put in our best efforts to make it as tasty as possible. Because at the end, all that actually matters is the good taste.
