India is a land of charismatic colours, known for its exuberant culture and the taste of brotherhood. but cant this taste only be felt apart from reading from the book of our Constitution? We have seen our monopolistic netas delivering speeches on secularism and brotherhood just for the avarice of sinews of the war.
In the 21st century, we Indians are somewhere disrespecting the soul of our constitution. Values like integrity, brotherhood, secularism, democracy, fraternity etc are the very pillars which build this vast country. If anyone of these is removed, the entire system will be dilapidated.
Secularism means to have the spirit of brotherhood and an eye for compassion for our interreligious mates. Now coming to the recent controversial ad of Tanishq which has ignited a fire in the forests, the ad shows a serene atmosphere of a happy and jubilant family, welcoming their daughter in law of other religion with open arms.
Now, stop here.
Now, I don’t understand what’s the point of creating a ruckus regarding the whole issue. Where are they beating her? Was she crying? Was she forced to smile? A big NO. She was rather happy, extremely happy.
Is the hatred for inter-religious marriages greater than happiness? Absolutely not.
When we envisage a developed and better India, we need free ourselves from the shackles of such narrow-minded irksome beliefs. I write this with the hope that whosoever reads this can correlate with my opinions and this little effort can bring about a drastic change in our orthodox society.
I want to end with this: When happiness is offered, take it. It might be the dream of millions to even have a look at it.
