Dragvanti, Mobbera Foundation, Nritya Foundation and Hyderabad Drag club is coming back after eight months of lockdown to bring a special ‘Drag Halloween’ event. This time the drag gets bloody!
Hyderabad is all set to celebrate Halloween with drag. Drag-Khooni, as the name suggests, is an open event for the Hyderabad community to bring their spooky curves and celebrate with music, dance and drag. The queer-friendly event is open for all ages where you don’t need to hide your edginess! In the event, Hyderabad’s celebrated drag performers will present their grooves and curves, followed by a twist of magic and music.
Inspired by Rasmy Brothers’ Hindi Horror movies, this themed event is ready to host drag show by Suffocated Art Specimen (SAS), a music performance by The Nation’s rock beat and an engaging magic show by Mynu. The event would also have live face art painting by Bhoomika, and additional performances by the members of Mobbera Foundation.
The event will be hosted at newly-opened Sacred Earth Cafe, keeping all the safety concerns in mind and ensuring we follow social distancing and safety checks to the core. This is an event to celebrate the idea of Halloween—Indian style!
The ‘Sacred Earth Cafe’ started as a vision that Abhinay and Vineeth were devoted to—something that goes beyond a cafe and becomes an experience. The dream was to build a community that curates soul-nourishing experiences and brings some of life’s greatest pleasures like food, art and music together. A place that felt as warm as home—where groups could come, spend their valuable time with friends, family; a cultural hub where we organize regular Soiree nights with live music.
The Halloween event will have a line up of drag performances, magic shows, music and dance performance to create awareness about the new beginning, with a twist of art. People are encouraged to come dressed up in their Halloween costumes and creative facemasks to spend quality time with family and friends.
