We Should Be Proud Of Interfaith Alliances, Not Rejecting It

Yes, the advertisement by jewellery brand Tanishq recently encountered much opposition and resistance from some section of our community.

Why and for what?

Are we getting very conscious of religious beliefs? No!  Actually, I feel we have developed the tendency of opposing any rational ideas. The idea that symbolizes national unity and solidarity faces with stark criticism nowadays. We are likely to be developing a habit of assuming the presence of vice in every revolutionary idea.

The jewellery brand has only showcased, unity in diversity, but we have a problem with that.

A still from the Tanishq ad.

We are complaining about the reversal of the ad. But who knows about the reaction of the outrageous mass with the reverse side of the campaign? Being a secular country, we should be boasting about our interfaith alliance. But a dirty mind finds evil in everything.

Unity in diversity is a unique feature of our country, one that distinguishes India from other countries. But, by forgetting this sole purpose of our lives, we are creating a feud with our basic values. Because of our such ridiculous behaviour, Tanishq has withdrawn the campaign from its account. Instead of getting involved in personal improvement, we are unnecessarily jeopardizing our name and fame on global platforms.
