I follow a psychologist Richa Vashisht on Instagram. I found one of her posts very relevant, the one that talked about toxic work environments. This pandemic and the lockdown hence is a great opportunity to reflect if your workplace is toxic and if that is what has in-fact prevented you from enjoying your work. Managers especially should ask themselves this — if they’re creating toxic work environment and if that is what is stopping people from working at their full potential.
This is just an overview, perhaps from my own experience. For more on Toxic Work Environment, how to deal with it, and some Q&A, please check the highlights from Richa’s IGTV video above or the IG post below.

TW, Toxic Work Culture Does 'monday blues' sound like an everyday issue for you? If people you work with, belittle you or frequently attack you, this post is for you. When you are stuck in a toxic work environment, you will find yourself walking on egg shells in your work space everyday. You are constantly feeling overwhelmed and damaging your personal life as well. To make things worse, if your work environment isn't supportive, you and your issues will be gossiped about. It affects your physical as well as mental health to the point where you suffer from insomnia, loss in appetite, panic attacks and / or depressive episodes. Employee well-being is a collective responsibility, which requires efforts from the management as well as the employee, yet we find ourselves at work spaces that fail to understand this. Is this something you face or have faced in the past? If this sounds familiar, how can one cope? #toxic #toxicworkplace #toxicpeople #gaslighting #workboundaries #mentalhealth #mentalhealthatwork
