Do We Care About The Dark Reality Of Children Living In Slums?

Life is always hard for children whose family have neither a house nor essential services nor social capital that improves life; there’s just hope. This hope makes them happy, even without basic amenities. This is the dark reality of people who live in the slums around the trash and the sewage.

The horrific circumstances of their lives affect the children living in these slums. Their adorable smiles have such power that it could make your day, but their pathetic condition and the hazardous environment they are forced to live in makes you poignant and speechless. You feel confused and think, is it life? Is it justice? Is it destiny?

Why do we feel like shit when we see them in these circumstances? Are we responsible for their impoverishment? You have a bunch of question in your mind, but you do not have a single answer.

Ignore this bullshit, let us enjoy our life and let the warmth of their smile make our day. For a while, their smile makes you smile… The smile, you can never forget even when you have nothing to say and share.

I stood atop a mountain of garbage, and sewer was flowing beside me like a river and shit was spread all over. There were a bunch of houses, which neither had electricity nor water supply. The houses were covered with tin and shades with different coloured saris, etc. We yet manage to drive our focus away from this sad image and replace it with children’s exquisite smile.
