My name is Bodhisatva Ganesh Khanderao. I have been working on the Seed-Ball-Method for six years now. I go to school, colleges and teach people how to make seed-balls and its importance. Today, I am going to tell you about a new and innovative idea of tree plantation. This method is MSM, i.e., Magic Socks Method.
So, what do you do with your old and torn socks? You throw them in the trash. Today, I will share a wonderful idea with you to reuse your torn socks. I will tell you how we can use torn socks to save environment in a beautiful way. The only condition for this idea to work is that the socks must be made of cotton. Cotton socks decompose easily and do not pollute the atmosphere. If you don’t have cotton socks, you can use any ruined cotton cloth.
Whenever you eat fruits, collect the seeds. Or if there are some trees like Neem, Babhul, Jamun, etc., near your house or workplace, you can collect their seeds. Now put some of these seeds into the torn socks or in the cotton cloth and fold it. If possible, add some dried cow dung, soil or rotten leaves into the sock. Now your ‘Magic Socks’ are ready for plantation.
Whenever you go for walking, or for a picnic or travel somewhere, throw these socks into the valleys, either side of the road, on plains or in forests. The socks will stick to the soil, and the seeds will definitely germinate after rain.
When I went to demonstrate the Seed-Ball-Method in some places, I found that soil and cow dung are not easily available everywhere. In this case, you can use your worn-out socks or just an old, handspun torn cloth. I think MSM will prove to be one of the easiest methods for planting trees.
Please try to do it and share as much as you can. Thank You.
