Diseases Will Come And Go, But Our Bigotry Towards One Another Won’t!

Of all the ills that plague us collectively, the tendency to take things, especially something as precious as life, for granted, takes the cake.

With the emergence of something as fatal and commonplace as the COVID-19, hopefully, we shall be more grateful and consequently more humane in our approach towards life in general. Foremost in our reformation should be the task of treating our fellow human beings the way we ourselves wish to be treated, with respect and equanimity.

The transient nature of a pandemic is no match for the far more significant and perennial malaise of bigotry that has, is and will continue to afflict the collective sensibilities of our civilisation.

The ill-gotten gains of man’s hatred towards another man has infested the very roots of the so-called civilised cultures and are far more rapid and devastating, than the comparatively innocuous, yet already crowned coronavirus.

We shall continue to bid farewell to the countless diseases that descend and penultimately fade away.

I await the day when we accord a permanent farewell to hate and antipathy.
