Hathras Case Has Left Many Questions Unanswered

The Hathras case still has so many questions left answered, and no one can justify it by giving any  excuse or argument. Why did the police not file FIR immediately? Why did the media not cover the case right after it happened? Why did the media cover this news after the victim’s death? Why did the police cremate her body without her family’s approval? Why did they do it in the middle of the night?

U.P police forcibly burnt Dalit woman’s dead body, locked her family inside their house.

Why was police stopping the media, politicians, and other people from entering the village? Why did the PM not even write a 140-character tweet condemning this incident? Why is Smriti Irani, who once sent bangles to PM Manmohan Singh to mock his silence over a similar incident, silent now?

Now, answers to all these questions may not be acceptable. This is not only one case in India, but it’s an everyday reality. In India, a rape occurs every 15 minutes.  Why does it not affect us then?
