Poem: Transgressions Of The Tongue

The savagery of the tongue cuts deeper than the knife;

Inflicting what can seldom be undone;

The maimed writhe in endless agony, reliving the occasion of hurt again and again.

If you seek profoundness and wish to depart from the realm of the ordinary;

If you truly wish to conquer heights previously unheard of;

If you sincerely desire to establish a reign over hearts;

A reign that remains unvanquished for eternity,

Then my friend, keep your utterances in check–

For if left unfettered, the one that slithers and slips can craft your doom even out of thin air.
