Quick Byte: It Doesn’t Take Much To Reduce Everyday Plastic Waste!

By Bodhisatva Ganesh Khanderao

We all have to attend social functions in our life. There we take some snacks, tea, coffee or water from cans. After having tea, coffee, or water, we throw the plastic or paper cups into a dustbin. These glasses, cups, plates are then collected and thrown in the dumping grounds. It increases the garbage load.

We can reduce or stop this.

Solution 1: People can take a small ceramic or metal cup and a metal plate in a clean cotton bag whenever they go to any social function, as per their need. If there is a chance to have food only then carry the plate otherwise, a small size metal glass is sufficient. Use your own containers and bring them back after use.

If a thousand families start to implement the above solutions, we can stop the use of more than a thousand plastic buckets, mugs, use-and-throw glasses and plates. Image provided by the author.

Solution 2: People can purchase metal buckets and mugs for bathing purpose and other household uses. It can decrease the need for recycling plastic.

If a thousand families start to implement the above solutions, we can stop the use of more than a thousand plastic buckets, mugs, use-and-throw glasses and plates.

These are simple solutions. If you want to keep our planet clean, healthy and fit then try these ideas from today. Simple, zero-cost and easy to implement!
