According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), teacher’s day is celebrated globally on October 5. It commemorates the signing off of the 1996 UNESCO and International Labor Organization (ILO) Recommendation concerning the status of teachers. Thus, this day is observed to appreciate their efforts and influence on a child’s life and education.
In 2020, the theme of World Teacher’s Day was “leading in crisis, reimagining the future”. The theme is completely relevant to the present scenario; teachers all over the world are coming forward to support children by teaching them online. Many teachers have been facing a lot of issues in the pandemic. Yet, they prepared themselves with all digital devices to take a virtual class, replacing manual classroom mode of teaching.

These rights of children can be fulfilled by NGO’s helping children without being dependent on any authority. We at Pehchaan The Street School are helping children receive their basic needs and education. With this, we are protecting the rights of children under the UN Convention on the Rights of Child especially right to life, right to survival, right to development and right to education.
