“YKA Gave Me A Platform To Fuel My Passion For Writing”

I was very uncertain about my plans, back in senior secondary, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. Nobody guided me about my career and future. I used to be an average student in school. I made my choices on my own. When I had no options, I opted for a degree in Journalism. I didn’t know the scope and life ahead of it.

Somehow I managed and convinced my parents; after spending three years in Journalism and two years in MBA, I realised that I have a deep interest in writing. I like to play with words. I can work and understand words. But I didn’t get the platform. Although I took an internship at a channel, it didn’t help.

During the lockdown, I wanted to utilise my time wisely. I was going through some articles online when I came across Youth Ki Awaaz. I saw a section that told me that I too, could make a place here, for myself.

My reason for happiness was, my articles were reaching a certain audience; people were reading my words.

Without wasting a minute, I made up my profile and started writing! I was unaware of what would happen next. My first article was based on sensational journalism. A few days later, I noticed, it had been published and corrected by YKA editors.

It took me a while to register what happened, and that 1st article boosted me up. I witnessed a spark within myself the same day. I had a passion for writing, and I got a platform for it.

Sometimes, money doesn’t give you that satisfaction that happiness gives. My reason for happiness was, my articles were reaching a certain audience; people were reading my words. I got what I wanted, and this boosts me up, to multiply myself in this field.

Those were the times when days were running me, today; I’m running my days.
