What Are We Doing About Our Noxious Neighbour, Climate Change?

Representational image.

Knock Knock.

Who’s there?

Heatwaves.

Heatwaves who?

Surprise! It’s just me, global warming, your neighbour. I’ve been living in the house right across the street since the 19th century, but you always seem to ignore me. Anywho, I just thought I’d bring over some of my best- dehydration, stress, recurring headaches due to stress, social conflict, and the works. I’m world-famous for these, but people don’t give me the credit I deserve, it’s sad!

Hang on, I’m trying to remember why I came here. Oh, right, to prey on you! Wait! Where are you running off to? At least acknowledge me! Hey! Stop living in denial! Alright, at least pass it on! Nice to meet you…bye!

This isn’t a glimpse of the future. It is our present. To deal with our pesky omnipresent neighbour ( AKA global warming), we can stymie it right now by changing our methods.

The only hiccup here is that change doesn’t happen overnight. It is a gradual process which starts with people like you and me first realising there is a NEED for change. The realisation is what drives us toward betterment. Today is tomorrow’s creator. Our actions today define our tomorrow. Planting a seedling or saving energy today goes a long way in securing our tomorrow just as deforestation accelerates our doom. How long is it going to take humans to realize that the sword of catastrophe is hovering over our heads?

I will take one step towards thwarting global warming by reducing the usage of air conditioners in my house by at least 2 hours. What are you going to do to help your planet?
