Education For All: This NGO Is Teaching English-Speaking To Visually-Impaired Students

Vrikshit Foundation is a foundation empowered by students working for a healthy India. Their aim is to make our environment green, clean and healthy for all. They have performed various programmes for the betterment of society, one of which is the Cleanliness Programme. Under this initiative, the NGO’s teams go out to clean the areas and beautify the walls by wall painting. Apart from this, the NGO always tries to spread smiles on the faces of elders or children. Their happiness campaign is one in which they celebrate birthdays of children who are not privileged enough to have a joyful day.

And while keeping in mind every aspect of society, the organisation tries to help and feed stray dogs too. They have grown their foundation in just a year and have spread across various states of India. One such state is Kerala, in which they have started an online English training programme for high school students of the Kerala V1 Community. Education is the most powerful weapon on Earth. To teach visually-impaired students who didn’t get the chance to learn is the most empowering act that can be done by human beings.

Not only for a better tomorrow but also for a beautiful today, Vrikshit Foundation is starting an education programme in which they will teach along with an unclaimed organisation, KHB Youth Forum, and organise an Online Language Training Programme in 14 exclusive blind schools across Kerala. This course will focus on teaching fluency in English. It will help visually-impaired students who find difficulty in reading and writing. The programme is going to nourish and develop the personality of these students. This course is of three months and the classes would consist of about 8-10 students from schools of Kerala. There is no registration fees for the course. It’s free of cost.

To build one’s confidence and personality, English is required at every stage. Students face difficulty and are not confident in speaking due to grammatical errors. With these classes, the NGO will work towards making the students confident and enhance their communication skills.  This is going to be extremely useful for them. Moreover, Vrikshit Kerala has decided to give online coaching to kids with the help of UG, PG students and teachers through a virtual platform. The NGO is bringing expertise to their doorstep so that they can break the longest aquaria by varying the proficiency in English language.

Let’s utilise this opportunity very effectively, efficiently and honestly.
