A Letter To The Home Ministry And Their Idea Of Who Deserves Security

While Law and Order continue to suffer in this country and people are deprived of their basic rights, women feel unsafe on roads and cases in the courts fail to announce verdicts for years together, special treatment in the form of Y and Z security seems to be given to Kangana Ranaut, Sunny Deol, Arnab Goswami and the likes of them simply because they are mouthpieces of the government.

Kangana Ranaut (pictured above) was given Y-plus security because she said she feared for her life after spats with Shiv Sena.

Our tax money pays the salaries of the commandos deployed around these public figures, who seemingly earn enough to afford private security services. If they can afford an expensive lifestyle and vacations then this too should be their own responsibility and not something they should be given from a taxpayer’s hard-earned money.

None of them are of any significance to the nation except for being entertainers. On the contrary, the likes of Arnab bring international shame to the country (Imposed fine by UK govt and had to apologize more than 250 times earlier to UK broadcasting). In times that have seen the exodus of migrants, the protest of farmers, and the second wave of Corona, the home ministry is busy settling scores with those questioning it and protecting personally those who support the current regime.

Every Y or Z security costs the nation about 10 lakhs a month and we the common people pay for it. These public figures don’t spare a dime for the welfare of society and we sit there paying taxes for their security as if they are international ambassadors in war zones. What disappoints me further is that these people don’t deny the privilege thus proving how it actually pampers their ego-driven idea of power. The common people also don’t seem to mind much for hero-worshipping has genetically rotten their mindsets and breaking the circle of lies to wake up to truth seems impossible for them.

Still having seriously felt concerned over it the least I could do was to remind that Common Man matters. Their hard-earned tax money is for building roads, hospitals, and schools and not for building the VIP status of useless public figures.

Dear Mr. Home Minister,

Gentle Reminder – Common Man matters!
