2020 Was Incredibly Tough But Help And Hope Can Change The World Again

2020 began with a note of tension when the news about Covid spread worldwide but I was not worried much about it. It was 19 March, 2020 when Covid started affecting my life. My last board exam got cancelled and the government declared a lockdown across the country.

In the first week, everyone was very joyous about the fact that we all are stuck together. All the children of our apartment started playing games like badminton, football by forgetting the norm of social distancing. We all panicked about the food delivery or the rules that were set for the grocery shops and every day, we all prayed together to God to take Covid away from our lives.

Very soon, I realized that my body has started working differently. I didn’t want to eat and faced insomnia. My anxiety affected me so badly that I had to consult a doctor. Sitting in my room alone, I introspected and felt that I needed to work on my skills. I started reading books about leadership skills, controlling my anxiety to gain my stability back. Slowly, I changed my daily routine and added exercise, painting, singing and dancing which made everything enjoyable. I would start my day with a lot of zeal and end it with a 5min meditation.

This period has also taken away a lot from us. Some have lost their close ones, jobs and a lot of things. Life has been compared with hell by most of the people. My family has tried to help others with food and money. I have also tried to help out my friends and support them.

This period was definitely positive for me as I got a lot of time to work on myself but the people who are economically challenged faced a lot of problems- the migrant workers, the house helpers, the public vehicle drivers, small business owners and a lot of other people who lost their small savings for Covid.

Help and hope can change the world again.
