Let me tell you a tale
Devoid of any male
About me and mine
And how we fought against time
Hardship, struggle and efforts all in vain
They said you can’t see a rainbow without a little rain
Whose very mention brings it back all over again
As I look at her tired eyes
My mind restores to words of the wise
Who said you can’t outrun life
It’s like balancing on a knife
All I want is to slow down and sit
Making ordnance out of my wit
If not to win the world over
Rather hoping for fecund closure
Hope I can give her all that she deserves
While keeping nothing for the reserves
I can conclude without a doubt
My being without her is reduced to a cumulous cloud
Bereft of rain
Ending only in pain
