Yes, the funny, absurd, bizarre and sometimes ‘dank’ kind of Internet visuals that millennials use more than they use Helping Verbs in their conversations.
As the social circle and real-life interactions diminished to almost zero during the sequels of lockdowns, these memes distracted us or made us take the adversities with a pinch of salt and it is safe to say that apart from big corporate houses, the only other entity which grew this year was our sense of humour.

This old video clip from Ghana showing a group of men dancing while carrying a coffin on their shoulders on an impressively catchy tune went viral. As a deadly pandemic knocked our doors, this meme seemed very prophetic.

Although it seems like an eternity, it was not long ago that instead of “vaccine kab aayegi?” (when will the vaccine be available?) the most popular question was “rasode mein kaun tha?”. A trippy mix of a very absurd sequence from an Indian soap opera by musician Yashraj Mukhate, a guy whose name spread faster than coronavirus itself, was practically on everyone’s phone.

You know sometimes you think that you’ve seen it all, you are jaded at the age of 25 and no one or nothing can surprise you anymore. Then suddenly at 3 AM in the morning, internet hits you with what probably would be the most iconic thing about the century (no, I am not kidding). This video of Turkish drummer Bilal Göregen edited with a supremely chill cat was that thing. Just look at this miracle of 21st century.

A kid, who was absolutely slaying with his lockdown hair, tries his best to save them with the weapons at his disposal: cuteness and a firm voice of resistance. Little did he know that his reaction would perfectly capture what we have been wanting to say to 2020.
